Common problems of the Infant that require no medicine- Parenting is the most difficult task, especially when you recently become one. As soon as the baby is born, the constant dilemma begins about what is better for the baby and what is not. There are a lot of situations faced commonly by the parents, and many of which just need reassurances and no treatment. This article will help you identify such situations where the baby who is exclusively breast fed doesn’t need any medication- 1) Constipation- common to pass stools even once in 3-5 days. 2) Frequent passage of small quantity stool even 10-15 times in a day. 3) Colour of stools: In early period of infancy the baby may pass different coloured stools (may be blackish, golden yellow and green). 4) Frequent regurgitation of milk: Regurgitation may occur after every feeding. It requires only proper positioning and burping.( until associated with weight loss or not accepting feeds or greenish vomiting) 5) Crying before and after passing urine and stool. 6) Breast engorgements in newborns: Don’t try to empty milk by squeezing it. 7) Minor vaginal bleeding or mucoid discharge in female babies- it automatically stops in 3-5 days. 8) Skin rash: A reddish, abdominal rash seen after 24-48 hours of life subsides by its own in a week. (Erythema Toxicum) 9) Greenish Black slate like macules seen over buttocks of newborns subsides by its own in a year. (mongolian spots) 10) Milia- keratin filled cysts seen in the face.
