Useful tips to improve eating habits in your child-
• Feeding forcefully is not useful. If your child isn’t hungry at all, there is no point trying to force it.
• Child should eat with the family on the dining table.
• Serving large meals is not useful; it will only irritate your child.
• Limit Snacks (Packaged food items like chips, kurkure, cookies, chocolates etc); the hungrier a child is, the more likely he is to eat whatever meal is served for him.
• Get Your Child Involved in preparing food. If he feels like he is a part of the cooking process, he will definitely want to eat what he has cooked.
• Make Food Interesting (colourful and nice presentation of food is important for your child too).
• Don’t repeat the same food often; try different food items.
• Add some salt, spices and sugar accordingly in your food (No one likes tasteless food including your child)
• Lead with Example; Eat with your child and give them positive reinforcement. (Avoid punishment and scolding for not finishing meals)
• Improve self-feeding in your child; keep them engaged in eating.
• Don’t expect your child to eat what you won’t.
