This is a fender we repaired at our shop in Vancouver. You can see the shadows of the dented areas dissapear from the image above. We use these lights and more specifically their reflection to be our guide. The system highlights any high areas and shadows low areas much like a bodyman uses a guide coat paint to reveal low spots. The difference is that we do not damage the paint in or process so we sidestep the whole repainting process. PDR has been around for decades but only recently repairing larger areas with PDR wasn't that reliable. Our industry is moving forward quickly and we now see overlap into the autobody world.
