It has become common practice for unscrupulous locksmiths to acquire a provincial license (but not a Journeyman certification) and then send out untrained "Apprentices" to do the work. A Journeyman has been certified as "best in class" in the province of Alberta and can teach with the highest practical knowledge - whereas having a single company working license being leaned on by multiple Apprentices means you are basically allowing a rookie to work on your home, commercial, or automotive security. Even if the rookie is able to contact the license holder, you are still paying the same (or greater) rate as you would using a Journeyman or Journeyman-trained locksmith.
