Backyard Garden Box Project The Backyard Garden Box Project was developed to support one of our missions; to increase the amount of organic food being grown on St. Helena Island. This project will provide and assist students and families with the tools necessary to construct their family backyard 6X12 boxes, access to a farm demonstration coach, growing instructions, soil, seeds, fertilizers, seedlings and mentoring to establish their own Family Backyard Garden Box. Produce harvested from the box will help supplement the family’s diet with organic nutritious vegetables, while learning sustainability and entrepreneurship skills.
