The Rum River is a hidden gem for kayaking that feels remote but is less than an hour away from both Minneapolis and St. Paul. We launch at Rum River North County Park in St. Francis, and travel down to Rum River Central Regional Park in Ramsey. This self-guided trip takes most groups about 3.5 - 4 hours. It is one of the best places to kick back and enjoy nature and wonderful scenery. The water is fresh and clean, with great swimming and picnicking spots and is known for great small mouth bass fishing. Ask about our guided fishing outings.
