Determining If You Have A Whiplash Injury
Whiplash is a soft tissue injury that causes damage to your neck's muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Whiplash doesn't show up on x-rays like a broken bone or fracture would, and it's common to not even realize you have whiplash for several hours or days after your accident.
When whiplash symptoms do start to present themselves, some of the most common are :
A feeling of pins and needles in your arm
Pain, stiffness, and tightness in your neck
An inability to move your neck or pain while you do so
Headaches originating from the back of the neck
Pain in your arms, neck, or lower back
Dizziness and fatigue
Some victims of whiplash also experience:
Irritability
Difficulty concentrating
Memory problems
Blurred vision
Tinnitus, or a ringing in the ears
Difficulty sleeping
Depression
Whiplash left untreated will take longer to heal and could lead to additional complications and a longer recovery time.
That is why you should always visit your chiropractor after a car accident.
