WORKSHOP: Level 1 - PRANAYAMA FOR BEGINNERS September 22, 2022. 6pm We will be hosting our first in a series of Workshops -- an Introduction to Pranayama with our guest instructor, Neeta Desai. An ancient yogic 🧘breathing technique used to create mind-body connection, relieve stress, control our moods, fight disease and go deeper in our meditation. Prana means "life force / vital energy" 🔥which refers to quite simply the breath, but also the energy that is flowing throughout everything and everyone, it is the vital force that creates, energizes and maintains your life. Yama means "to control / restrain", therefore Pranayama literally means to control and restrain the life force that flows throughout your body💕. During this one hour workshop you will learn: •3 out of the 9 traditional Pranayama techniques •The Hand Mudras to use during Pranayama 👌 •How to sit whilst doing Pranayama 🪑(with variations) •Practice micro exercises to prepare your body for controlling and restraining the breath. •How, when, where to practice Pranayama in your daily life. What to bring: •An empty stomach! (Consider taking a 2hr break in between hour last meal and class time. Or have something very light.) •Wear comfortable/regular yoga clothes. •Bring socks and a sweater to stay warm. •A Yoga mat •Water •Pen & Paper for any note takers.
