No, you don’t just get this from playing tennis 🤪. Tennis elbow is a misnomer. In fact, fewer than 5 percent of patients with this condition actually play tennis! It usually results from daily repetitive overuse from gym exercise or hours of computer work🧑‍💻. Patients complain of sharp pain at the outer aspect of the elbow, worse with shaking hands or grabbing a cup of water. Often, the advice is more stretches and exercise to strengthen the elbow. For many, the pain is too much to even try exercising…if you persist with exercising, the pain is made worse. 😖So eventually the doctor recommends having a corticosteroid 💉injection in the elbow and for some people it may give temporary relief before it returns when they return to work or activities of daily living. The cycle of pain and weakness continues for months and years. To find out how we can help you beat that niggling elbow pain, give us a ring at 905-507-2772 and speak to one of our Expert Physiotherapists today!
