Midtown #hoboken. Shown here is a photograph of a recent rehabilitation. The idea with this post is that we are comparing the original first tread, which has been laid on the floor in front of the replacement first tread, which in turn has been installed. Both new and the original (circa 1890's tread) are made of wide plank 5/4" yellow pine. Let's kick this into gear. It's time. Let's get your stair project out of the theoretical stages. C'mon already! Do me a favor and be good to yourself. You know you deserve new stairs. You'll wonder why you waited so long. A good rule of thumb is you should work on your stairs every 130 years whether they need it or not. Trust me on this one. Let's get going. Life is too short to have funky stairs. WAY too short. http://www.TheStairRepairExperts.com
