8 REASONS WHY A PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY MAY NOT TAKE YOUR CASE 1. The statute of limitations has passed 2. There is a conflict of interest It could be something as simple as they are representing the other side. 3. They’re too busy Often attorneys are too busy and won’t be able to devote the time needed for your case. 4. Your case is not their expertise 5. They can’t afford to take your case Big law firms have big overhead and so will only consider larger cases that pay larger settlements. Call a small firm instead. 6. You carry too much of the blame If you are somewhat or mostly at fault, some attorneys will not risk the time and resources needed to take your case for fear that they’ll be left holding the bag. 7. There are minimal to no damages In order for personal injury attorneys to make a living, there must be a settlement - enough to get the victim what they need and the attorneys paid for their time and expenses. . 8. Little hope of collecting a settlement If the defendant is uninsured or underinsured, you may have a case but there will be little chance of collecting on the settlement. You may think your case falls into one of these categories, but don't make the mistake of thinking you can make that determination on your own. Let an attorney do that for you. Call us. It's free and there is never a fee unless/until we win your case. But don't delay. The statute of limitations' time clock is ticking.
