This cute and cuddly breed is characterized by a small statured body, round head, black nose, short muzzle, pricked and upright or folded and floppy ears and a long tail which thins on reaching the tip just like a sickle curve similar to its Chihuahua parent. Their friendly and gentle nature make them an excellent family pet. The Affenpinscher Chihuahua mix is a friendly and sociable dog that enjoys attention and affection shown by its family members, also enjoying a cuddle. However, they might have a special inclination towards a particular member of the household, a trait inherited from their Chihuahua parent. Despite its small size, it can have a sense of braveness inherent in it just like its parents and may also get stubborn at times. Though they have a pleasing disposition, they should not be left alone with young children as these delicate and fragile dogs may run the risk of getting knocked down.
