From August 1st, MOTs are no longer eligible for an extension and the industry is braced for a rush to get them done. To avoid not being able to find a slot, MOTs can be done BEFORE the due date which means NOW might be the best time to book yours in, whilst there are still spaces available. If your MOT fell during the extension period, you don't have to wait the full 6 months to have it done. Many drivers are choosing to ignore the 6 month grace period as they don't want to delay the safety aspects of the MOT.
