The Black Journey: African-American History Walking Tour
The Black Journey: African-American History Walking Tour
Nov 11, 2019
Thank you for a wonderful 2019 maiden tour season of The Black Journey: Black Philadelphia Walking Tour. It was a pleasure meeting visitors from all around the world and sharing Philadelphia's rich Black History. Your kind words of encouragement and feedback made all the tours that we gave in 110-degree humidity worthwhile. We hosted visitors from Ghana, England, France, Russia, Australia, and many states. We will continue to run tours for groups of 10 or more throughout the year, so if you have a group of friends or family visiting Philadelphia during the holidays, please get in touch.  We will also be introducing a NEW TOUR coming in 2020 that will focus on #BlackPhiladelphiaExcellence! We will tell the stories of Black architects, educators, politicians, lawyers, entertainers, athletes, soldiers, and more! Hear the story of a Black architect that designed an iconic building for a university that he would be barred from attending due to jim crow discrimination. See the building that a Black Philadelphia lawyer built because none of the established Philadelphia office buildings would rent him office space. See where John Brown spent one of his last nights. See the site where the first Black woman lawyer practiced law. Black Journey merchandise is available to order. https://teespring.com/stores/the-black-journey
