English Style Garden Tea
Sep 14, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The final event of the weekend long series of Cottage Tour events is the Garden Tea. The tea will take place at Tolovana Hall ( 3779 S Hemlock St, Tolovana Park, OR 97145.) Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance. Seating for this event is limited, so we expect the event to sell out quickly. The speaker for the 2019 Garden Tea is Jennifer Bell and she’s going to be talking to us about designing your garden with native plants. Bell, a biological science technician at Lewis and Clark National Historic Park, is an enthusiastic native plant specialist. Native plants are adapted to our local soil and climate conditions, making them easier to maintain. Bell will walk us through the best way for gardeners to utilize and benefit from the use of native plants in their gardens. She’ll share what plants are native to our coastal ecoregion, where to get them and how to select and place native plants for different growing conditions. Attendees are invited to enjoy Beach House Teas in real China with tasty scones, cucumber sandwiches, and mini-quiches on real China. Each table will have its owned tiered selection of goodies, completed with homemade jam, custard and whipped cream. We will also have Sleepy Monk Coffee and our homemade blackberry lemonade. Tickets for this event are $25 and should be purchased right away as this event is expected to sell out.
