What is the 5 hour class and why do you need it? The DMV approved 5 hr. class is a mandatory class. You have to complete this class in order to set your road test appointment date in New York State. The 5 hr. course consists of 3 hours of lecture information, 1 hour of video presentation and 1 hour for breaks. Hi, my name is Colin Thorne and I teach the 5 hour class for Fuzion Driving School.
