As soon as we arrive we: • Drain all old water making sure to rid pond of nutrients for summer Algea growth. (We Evaluate the entire system and give suggestions to have the most maintenance free pond or waterfall with long term solutions) •Fish- if you have any fish, large bins are filled with fresh water with chlorine neutralizer, large air Stones and lid of the fish is to keep them stress free and in a healthy environment. We also check each fish for any harmful diseases or parasites(If fish is found to have any harmful parasites or sores we also Soak the fish in a salt bath that will cure 98% of harmful parasites including koi ulcers. •Debris Removal - agitate and loosen sediments in pond and stream using a combination of power washer with specific attachments to be the most effective at cleaning algae off rocks and your pond liner without risking any damage to liner or causing leaks. We use a combination of pumps , sludge removal attachment that connects to power washer with 2” flex hose as well as wet/dry vacuums . We have the ability to pump your sludge up to 150’ + ,away from the pond if preferably not wanted to use to fertilize plants and dry grass around your yard. (old pond water is liquid gold for any struggling plants or grass so we use it as fertilizer for your plants) • Clean skimmer basket and filter mats • Inspect pump for optimal flow • Trim aquatic plants/ fertilize Lilly pads if requested • Add gravel and/or attach rock to the sides of water fall or pond liner (we can foam rocks with pond foam upon request to keep in place and keep muck from getting trapped between rocks and to keep them in place for years to come) • Inspect feature for potential leaks (can patch if found or talk about options in large or Complicated situations) •Refill pond with fresh water , if you have fish will immediately add chlorine neutralizer , also we can add salt for koi upon request(Yes koi and goldfish thrive with small amounts of salt added to pond, it protects them from 98% of harmful bacterias and parasites that cause disease and death. Added in the right amount it helps the fish especially through the cold season when there immune system as low. • Test water quality balance (PH, Nitrates, Ammonia, KH) • Add beneficial bacteria and other vital water treatments To get your pond to the right balance of biological filtration as quickly as possible. We have no problem sharing and answering any questions to make your pond continue to run and stay as clean and low maintenance as possible through thee entire year. Last we always look at your pond or water feature as if it was ours and recommend adding products that I personally have and insist on installing when hired to build a new koi pond, when done correctly you won’t have a daily battle with algae , you’ll always be able to see clearly to the bottom of the pond and your yearly cleans will become cheaper and needed less frequent. ( For example a simple Pond leaf net used for catching all the falling leaves by simply staking it down over your pond and stream during October, will save you hundreds , keep your pond much cleaner and healthier for the fish hibernation through the winter. ) most cases it will cost U less then $100 for a pond net large enough to stake over your pond and be cut to go over streams and waterfalls!
