The birth of Samuel Thru the Bible: 1Samuel 1-3 We are beginning our trek through the Samuels, Choronicles & Kings attempting to run the information in parallel as much as possible in order to provide a thorough coverage of each topic where they all have something to say. This week however, we begin with the story of Hannah and the birth of her first son Samuel, who she dedicates as a Nazarite to the service of the temple, under Eli the Priest's care. These chapters cover Samuel's conception and birth, his dedication to the temple, Eli and his two ungodly sons Hophni and Phinehas, God's judgment upon Eli and his sons and the favor which rested upon Samuel as prophet in Israel.
