...and the Preacher said, "Everything is NOT Alright!" Thru the Bible: Jeremiah 8-11 In this portion of the records of Jeremiah's ongoing dialogue with God and its resulting prophetic words to Judah, we see MANY parallels with the church of the modern age. God's continual lament was that His people did not know Him. Such it is in the modern church. People today do not desire real churches, they would never tolerate real Pastors...what they want are a polished presense on a stage telling them "Everything will be alright" without a commitment to knowing, loving and obeying God. This is exactly what the religious leaders of Jeremiah's day were doing. So the word of the Lord to Jeremiah was repent for "Everything is NOT alright"... for which a conspiracy and plot to kill Jeremiah came about.
