Kings Leading to Israel's Assyrian Exile
Thru the Bible: 2Kings 14:23-29;15:8-17:41; 2Chron. 27:1-28:27
Tonight we see the patience and tender loving kindness of God! Oh, it doesn't appear that way on the surface, but if you look back over the long history of Israel's evil kings and idolatry, it becomes abundantly clear that God desires mercy, in that He waits SO LONG before passing judgment. Ever since the kingdom of Israel divided following the reign of Solomon, the kings over Israel have been particularly evil.
Judah (and Benjamin) on the other hand has vacillate back and forth between good and evil kings. God however, both in His faithfulness to His promise made to David as well as His mercy, spares Judah from the Assyrian exile, but God's patience is wearing thin!
