Jephthah's Vow Thru the Bible: Judges 9-12 Actually we kinda speed through 7 judges in this session but only 2 have read historical information in connection with them. First was Abimelech, who was a terrible man in Shechem of Israel. His story BEGINS with him murdering his 70 half brothers who were the legitimate sons of Gideon. He came to a rather swift end but not until MUCH destruction had taken place. Then we covered our theme Judge Jephthah. The majority of his story is not about his hasty vow made to the Lord, but the battle he fought and won for Israel against the Ammonites. Nevertheless, the story of his vow which deeply effected his only child - a daughter whom he loved, is what makes this judge's life story immortal.
