If My people...where Solomon got his prayer Thru the Bible: 2Chron. 5-6; 1Kings 8 When Moses spoke with God in the wilderness in Deuteronomy 28-30 he aksed of God certain things regarding the relationship Israel would have with God - including how to pray. Many, many years later in the Promised Land, Solomon clearly used Moses' prayer as a template for his own dialogue with God regarding the dedication of the Temple and Israel's continued relationship of knowing God and communing with Him. This prayer is COMPLETELY rooted in, connected with and reliant upon the terms and conditions of the Old Covenant with it's promises. This makes it problematic for the New Testament Christian who often uses the prayer in order to get God to alter the political climate in theri given nation to one that is comfortable and in compliance with Christian beliefs. In this week and next week's message, we are going to be examining the prayer in light of it's connection with both covenants and what God is doing NOW in the church as opposed to what He was doing in the earth regarding Israel at the time.
