Don't be lazy Minded Series: Maintaining this Hope Many Christians have lazy minds. We act as if we have little to no control over what we think, desire or feel...but the scriptures tell us otherwise. We are NOT victims, we do NOT need counseling...we need to take responsibility for our souls and set them on the things of God. As we are continuing in 1 Peter, we see a pattern emerge, where the salvation of our souls is directly tied to the renewing of our minds and the renewing of our minds directly with the revelation of Jesus Christ. For now, the Jesus is revealed to us incrementally in the Word of God, by the Holy Spirit, but at His second coming, it will occur in the twinkling of an eye. We are told here in Peter to prepare our minds for this later revelation by diligently renewing it with God's word. When we get to chapter 2, we are told that we are to desire the milk of the Word that we might grow thereby. Having and growing that desire is a task given to us - which means we CAN develope that desire and are being told to do so. That is the focus of this message. God Bless!
