The Kings during Elisha's Ministry Pt. 2 Thru the Bible: 2Kings 11:21-14:1; 2Chron. 23:16-24:27 Elisha's ministry was follow-up to one of the most influencial and well known prophetic ministry of the Old Testament. Both Elijah & Elisha had a good number of dealings with the Kings of the kingdom of Israel. These chapters are the end of a two part session of teachings regarding Elisha's ministry and influence over the Kingdom of Israel. There are a ton of things these chapters reveal about God and His interactions with people and nations. As well as God delegated authority, spheres of authority, relationships and accountability. One mistake people in the modern church often make is assuming that the New Covenant somehow changed God - as if He were the one who was broken and needed fixing. God DOES NOT CHANGE! So if He was ever sovereign, He still is, If He ever judged the nations He still does, if He ever appointed those who rule over nations, He still does, If ever had anything to say regarding nations, leaders and the way we ought to conduct our lives, He still does... which makes these chapters valuable beyond the telling in guiding Christian understanding of events in our world.
