Binding, Loosening and the Apostles of the Lamb Series: Holy Spirit - Helper & Friend Today we cover Acts chapter 14 and most of 15. Though several things are covered such as... • The power & authority of even young believers • The appointing of Elders • Authority in the church • Honor and submission ...but the main focus of our teaching centered on the roles of authority regarding teaching and doctrine in the church as established by Jesus Himself. Even Paul and Barnabus as genuine apostles did nto carry ecclessiastical authority regarding doctrine. That was something specifically given to the 12 (Matthias having replaced Judas who betrayed Jesus). That they had authority to bind (make binding) doctrine or loose (make loose from) certain doctrines of the Old Testament on New Covenant believers. We did this using this prime example of binding and loosening here in Acts 15 and offer further examples to enhance the completeness of the study. Also on the website at https://www.grace-life.org you will find links for furhter study and understanding on these topics especially regarding the difference between the Apostles of the Lamb and all other subsequent apostles. I truly pray this teaching blesses you, instructs you and encourages you in your study and obedience to God's word and especially in your trusting reliance upon Jesus the Lord. Blessings!
