Paul... to go to Jerusalem or not? Series: Holy Spirit - Helper & Friend Following all of Paul's missionary journeys he would alwasy go to Jerusalem and shre the success and furtherance of the gospel with the Apostles and Elders. We do not know why he did this, but it is likely this was out of a desire they all had to share in the successful spread of the Kingdom of God AND to keep as many informed of the difficulties unique to each area. Among the last churhes Paul visited was Ephesus where nearly 4 million dollars worth (in today's US currency) books of witchcraft were publicaly burned as people turned their hearts to Jesus. It was at this point that we are told Paul resolved within himself to go to Jerusalem. After this point, he began to talk about it and in city after city people told Paul byu the Spirit not to go to Jerusalem, yet he was convinced he WAS to go. Finally a prophet namce Agabus came from Judea all the way up see Paul in Caesarea in order to tell him prophetically of the troubles which would encounter him in Jerusalem. Nevertheless, Paul went with his own conviction and went. I hope this message is a blessing to you as you study God's word and seek His face!
