The week of Jesus' passion is called such for a reason...not just because of how at the end of that week He poured out His life, but because all of His teachings that week were passionate. It was with passion that he addressed sin, complacency, religious elitism, living for safety and for the praise of your common man - ALL in a terrible substitution for devotion to and intimacy with God. Jesus also addressed the tendency of His disciples to trust in things seen, rather than in God alone. So He triggered their concerns for their flesh by talking about the destruction of the temple which symbolized many things to them - including religious freedom of worship. As He progressed in talking about coming persecution and the great tribulation He made a definitive statement - 'In your Patience, possess your Soul" and in that statement is a world of useful counsel. Blessings!
