For those in deep darkness, a great light has dawned Thru the Bible: Isaiah 8-12 These chapters reveal the sovereignty of God working to accomplish the plans and purposes of God both immediately for Israel and in the future for all who will come to righteousness through the Messiah. God places it in the mind and power of the Assyrian King to conquer Israel and take them into exile. Yet, Assyria’s king believes it was all his idea and that it was through his power and military cunning that he was successful. So when God was done using Assyria to punish His people, He turned His attention to Assyria’s King in judgment for pride and cruelty. God’s pronouncement of bringing home a remnant from Israel who had held onto their righteousness was coupled with His future pronouncements of Messiah’s birth, His judging the world at the end of the tribulation and establishing His millennial kingdom where He would reign in peace and righteousness. There is MUCH in these few chapters…I pray you are encouraged towards deep reverence and faithful love to God as you listen and hopefully study on your own. Blessings!
