The promise of the Spirit is given by faith, not works Series: Holy Spirit - Helper & Friend Today we started reading through Galatians. We started with a preview of where the letter was going - namely Gal. 3:2-5; 14b. This is were Paul asks the Galatians how they recieved the Holy Spirit. Was it by external obedience to the tennants of the law or by faith in the gospel they had been taught. The focus of the lesson is regarding the relational nature of salvation and how Paul points more to our fellowship with the Holy Spirit than heaven, righteousness or even the forgiveness of sins. All of these are imperative parts of the Gospel of course, but have no meaning outside of the life which springs from our union and fellowship with the Holy Spirit we have been given. Blessings!
