One of the reasons I love my career is the human interaction. I don't do new construction work because I prefer the interaction with the homeowner! That being said, I see all kinds of people and at times I feel more like a psychiatrist than a plumber. Just this week I've done work for a lady struggling with the loss of her brother. While I am replacing the water heater, I am also there as an ear to listen. I've heard stories from individuals that are terminal just trying to get some plumbing issues resolved so their spouse won't have to deal with the problems later. I have heard it countless times that, "my husband used to take care of this kind of thing" and I know it doesn't get any easier. There are all kinds. It's always a bit of a struggle when a homeowner is coping with dementia and doesn't remember why they called the plumber. Helping people and serving others is extremely rewarding and I love what I do and the people I do it for. I enjoy our community and I appreciate all of my customers, helpers, suppliers, and vendors I use.
