In 1968, only 1.1% of dental students were female. However, since the incoming class of 2018, that number is now over 50%! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ In celebration of Women's History Month, we would like to spotlight some historically influential female dentists. Let's start with Emeline Roberts Jones, the world's first practicing female dentist. Lucy Hobbs Taylor, the first woman to receive a degree in dentistry. Leonie Von Meusebach-Zesch, the first paid female dentist in the US Army and Alaska's first female dentist, would travel by dog sled to see patients during the winter months. Jeanne C. Sinkford became the first female dean of a dental school in 1975 in 1890 Ida Gray was the first African-American female dentist. Minnie Evangeline Jordon was the first dentist in the United States to specialize in pediatric dentistry. These women have made history and continue to inspire us today! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’― #WomenInDentistry #WomensHistoryMonth #BestLocalDentist #DesignsByCAS#bestdentistnearme #bestsantaquindentist #bestutahvalleydentist http://jozu.me/npw
