RAPID skills training is provided in a format of non-technical language, which can contribute to better program implementation fidelity! As suggested by many training developers & researchers, complex language along with cultural & other social barriers, can contribute to high levels of non-adherence to program training... We are developing ways to provide this training to the public online; it’s in process, along with university based research protocols which will help us learn more about the effects of teaching caretakers, teachers, parents and staff the 5 core interaction skills that are the basis of RAPID Skills Training including core interactive caretaker skills ~ reward/attending, providing breaks, ignoring non-dangerous behavior ie, what Dr. Glenn Latham coined as “junk behavior or behavior with potentially unattractive social function(s), minimizing interaction & attention for junk behavior and finally, direction giving. We are evidenced based in our practice and want to note that we never teach/train others to ignore a student, ever... We train you how to best minimize interaction at a time that’s not only contingent only for non-dangerous behavior but also, only when it’s safe to do so... this is one part of a common semi-technical procedure, in teaching & behavioral sciences, commonly known as differential reinforcement.
