On Friday June 26th Barbados was declared free of any active COVID-19 cases. As at today's date it has been 43 days since our last positive case. On July 1st Barbados reopened and the first airline to arrive will be Air Canada on July 12th, followed by British Airways on July 18th, JetBlue from JFK on July 25th, Virgin Atlantic on August 1st and American on August 5th. Of course this news does not come without some trepidation as it opens us up to a possible return of COVID-19 cases. Our Health and Tourism ministries have been actively working through a number of protocols to be in place. All of our holiday homes now have protocols in place for cleaning, sanitising and interaction with staff at the properties. As the Government of Barbados is taking a risk-based approach to the re-opening of tourism, there will be protocols in place for all persons entering the island. Before you embark on your journey you must do a COVID-19 PCR antigen test. If no test is done prior to departure and the ED form is not submitted, you will be required to undergo the test on arrival in Barbados. We are all still required to wear masks when going into establishments View our extensive list of vacation rental homes to suit any budget.
