There Is NO Shortage Of Truck Drivers In USA Trucking Companies Grind Through Truck Drivers For Profits There is a lot of media attention devoted to the shortage of truck drivers in the USA. That is false. It is a myth. There are plenty of truck drivers in Texas and the USA. They simply don't want to work as truck drivers any more. The job is difficult and stressful. The pay is lousy and they don't get paid for the many hours they wait on shippers to load or unload their cargo. Factor in the time away from family and the result is a very unattractive job. Annual Turnover Rate Is 95% For Truckers How many industries in the USA have a 95% annual turnover rate? Not many. The blame for this situation sits squarely with trucking companies and trucking company executives. Their profit-oriented policies and lack of concern for truck drivers had created a revolving door for truck drivers. It is called "job satisfaction" and there is little of that for truck drivers.
