Nothing irritates Marc more than a job done badly - and recently we had a BMW 3 series in for a "simple" rocker gasket replacement. Alarm bells started to ring when we found multiple clips and other fixings missing during disassembly. We then found two of the rocker cover bolts snapped in the head and to our horror, and as shown in the photo, silicone sealant plastered around the rocker gasket. It didn't stop there, the sealant was also smeared around the exterior of the rocker cover. Marc removed the snapped bolts, and carefully erased every trace of the silicone. The rocker cover gasket and the seals around the high pressure fuel pump were replaced with genuine BMW parts. All carefully reassembled and as the missing fixings replaced. There is no need for any of this to happen. The labour to complete the job was twice what is ordinarily required and the consequences of poor workmanship for your vehicle is potentially fatal. We take pride in everything we do at Marc's Independent BMW. Always treat customer cars (and wallets) as if they were our own. We pride ourselves on honesty, straight-talking and only doing what is necessary. We just wish the person who "butchered" this engine was more like us!
