We are super excited to have Ben Larks, winemaker for Idle Cellars, in the store with us for this tasting event! Living in Sonoma County since the 90's, Ben was surrounded by the allure of the vineyards that grew amongst the coast, redwoods, and mountains. In 2007, he ended up working the harvest season at Deerfield Ranch Winery in Kenwood with master winemaker, Robert Rex. He was able to learn from a plethora of other winemakers, and get chin deep in an array of varietals which led to getting pulled into the beautiful dirty beast of winemaking! He met Ari Heavner, his business partner, and their shared ideas came together to create Idle Cellars. By being hands on winemakers from the vineyard to harvest and to bottling, their desire to create natural small batch and vineyard designate wines has been gaining fans with their hard work, dedication, and ability to be idle.
