In honour of Black History Month I would like to talk about a woman I recently learned of who’s story I find absolutely inspiring. Olympian Wilma Rudolph was the fastest female runner in the world in 1960 who was also a civil rights pioneer. It's her background story which makes her accomplishments even more impressive. She was born prematurely, underweight, one of twenty-two kids in a poor Tennessee family, and at age four got polio, which resulted in a leg brace and a twisted foot. This woman was crippled by polio, and still defied every doctors expectations by pushing herself through immense adversity and pain to become a world running champion. Absolutely incredible. What an amazing woman to look up to. If you would like to learn more about Wilma Rudolph please click the link below. Wishing you all the best in your health and wellness journey, -Clayton Giles, RMT
