(Aberdeen, SD), The Dacotah Prairie Museum (DPM) will offer a “Stroll Around the Block” event to celebrate harvest time in Brown County on Sat. Oct. 3, 11am – 2pm. Staff will be offering a variety of stations placed around our historic 1889 building located at 21 S. Main St.. Enjoy the autumn air with a sip of hot cider and a sugar cookie. Take home a fun fall activity project-in-a-bag, and a mini pumpkin (as supplies last). View the 2020 All Dakota High School Fine Arts Exhibition display in our gallery windows as you stroll around the block. A harvest/seasonal decorated photo op will be set up on the corner of Main Street and 1st Avenue; take your photos and share them with us on social media. For the betterment of the museum and to aid with your holiday shopping, the DPM will have a holiday raffle of cozy gift items from The Mercantile. Not one but two items will be up for raffle: A basket of cool-weather comforts with a nod to Aberdeen and Brown County history perfect for gift giving and the second item will be a Melissa & Doug 30” T-Rex plush toy with a gift shop gift card. Fun for everyone! This is an outdoor event with social distancing. The DPM staff is eager to see our museum families and patrons again in person. Stop by and enjoy the fall weather, homegrown hospitality and the Museum Out-of-Doors! This is a free event for all ages; goodwill donations appreciated. Come out and support your local museum.
