I was addicted to video games to escape from reality. My marriage was loveless, my children were doing their own thing long before they were ready for the responsibility. I signed up for an 8 week mental health program and that started my path to recovery. Through that program I heard of alanon. I went to my first alanon meeting March 2007 and have found that serenity can be had. I have learnt who I am as a person. I learnt about co-dependant behaviours. I learnt about a new way to live! I can change, want to change. I have enough experience now to see how my life is different when I work the program. My recovery will live till I die. I will continue forever to attend h-anon meetings. I have learnt what love is, the true sincere love. To love myself and others. How I influence my environment. I am blessed.
