Being at home can make you feel creative and wanting to make music. However, you might not know what equipment to get to start building your home studio. We picked a list of essential equipment you should have. -Computer: We suggest using the computer you already have because buying a new one can end up being the most expensive piece of equipment. If you can afford a new computer, we recommend you MacBook Pro, Air, Ipad or the Mac Mini. -Audio Interface: The Audio Interface is the actual hardware that serves as the connection between your computer and the rest of your equipment. The most popular softwares are the Apple Logic, Garage Band, and ProTools. -Headphones and Studio Monitors: The essential headphones are Closed-Back headphones and Open Back headphones along with studio monitors for mixing purposes, where you will listen to your recordings and make sure the sound quality is perfect. -Microphone: There are many types of microphones you can choose from such as USB, Condenser, Dynamic, Ribbon and Drum microphones. -Cables: When just getting started, the cables that you will need are called XLR cables. https://www.aimm.edu/blog/essential-equipment-for-a-home-recording-studio Atlanta Institute of Music and Media 2875 Breckinridge Blvd #700, Duluth, GA 30096 (770) 242-7717
