Thinking of moving to Ocala but not sure where? We can help! Marion County is HUGE! We don't really have skyscrapers, we spread out. Everyone here will ask you what part of Ocala you are from. What they are referring to is not your home address, but which quadrant. Here in Ocala, since there is such a vast span of land the residents have identified themselves by quadrants. So your reply would be: "Oh, I live in the SE." Or NE, or SW or NW. There are some smaller towns used to identify as well such as Belleview, Summerfield, Citra, Anthony etc. But even those can be identified by the quadrants really. The majority of the 55+ communities are in SW just off of State Road 200, and the majority of the horse farms are on the NW side. NE (or just plain East) is going into "The Forest" (The massive Ocala National Forest) and SE can mean anything from Silver Springs Shores (which is almost its own city at this point) to Belleview (which is actually its own city). The best advice we can give is to figure out where you are going to work or what you need to be close to. If your work is in the Forest, I wouldn't necessarily recommend living in SW Ocala since it may take you an hour each morning to get to work. Even better, contact us and let us know what you would like, and we would be happy to help. We answer questions for free and we love to talk about our home town!
