Fifth Avenue Baptist Church
Fifth Avenue Baptist Church
Apr 7, 2020
Pastor’s Note ; April 6, 2020 ; Part 1 Two weeks ago I wrote these words: Even while I have been preparing (and making notes) for a coming sermon on Jesus’ way to the cross, I have been aware that the church may not have the privilege of assembly. The pandemic is new for all of us. I have never in all my years known a time when the people of God could not assemble and be blessed by the fel-lowship. We may well meet and bump elbows (or stay six feet apart); but. if we do not, we make such a decision so as not to endanger our people. Whether we meet or do not meet, be in prayer for the safety of the people of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, particularly our be-loved elders. Those words were written before I discovered that I had to have a pacemaker, if I am to continue my activities. This has also taken place. I am still amazed at how often ideals are trumped by the brute realities of life. I appreciate David Goff’s willingness to fill in for me at a moment’s notice. I have heard good things about his message, as well as his initiative to set the church up for live streaming of the morning worship service. Thank you David!
