Willow is an Knappstruper x TB mare who is 7 yrs of age and has been with her owner since birth. ☆ She was broken to saddle at the age of four, but was then diagnosed with Kissing spine in 2019. She had a severe case of Ulcers and was informed that her Suspensory ligaments in her hind limbs where inflamed. Her owner was deviststed and opted for her to be scoped and to have Surgery to her Kissing Spine in February 2019. ☆ Willow has now begun to work again, she has been long reined and lightly sat on but has shown discomfort when being touched. ☆ Whilst doing the initial trot up it was noted that she was short in her offside hindlimb. ☆ When the hands on assessment started it was evident that she was restricted through her lower neck and pectoral groups on her nearside, on her offside she was more fractious in her Poll, Brachiocephalicus and pectoral groups but also very tight in her Gluteals and Tensor fascia latae muscle. ☆ She has a tendency to do some impressive bucks when kicking her heels up in the field. ☆ I am happy with her back as she showed no discomfort whats so ever. ☆ She is a very intelligent Mare whom you can have a very good relationship with, this mare is a very good communicator. ☆ I have taken some before and after photos, her posture was quite constricted causing her to hold herself twisted from behind, after one session you are able to see some restrictions relax changing the way she holds herself. ☆ Looking forward to seing her again soon.
