Due to the current political climate in the UK affecting LGBTQ+ people, I would like to make it completely clear that all LGBTQ+ identities are respected in my clinic. It is a safe space for all people to come for holistic acupuncture that has an inclusive and progressive ethos. I am specifically making a point regarding trans people because of the Westminster government's use of the Section 35 Scotland Act in which they are seeking to block reform of the Gender Recognition Act in Scotland. The reform was due to be carried out in accordance with the findings of a public consultation which was heavily in favour of the proposed reforms. This has caused a lot of public debate and a lot of misinformation in the media, all of which makes trans people feel less safe engaging in public life. Trans people are safe, respected and honoured in my clinic.
