About "Drive-by" appraisals. I am working with a lady who does not want the appraiser to enter her home for an interior inspection. That is an option during the time of COVID. FHA is allowing appraisers to submit "Drive-By" or "Curbside" appraisals. The appraiser will come to your home, take a photo from the street and the rest of the appraisal will be completed using public records and comparisons from recent sales. These drive-by appraisals have been very accurate and acceptable to the borrower, the lender and to FHA. And you can stay safe in your own home. And by the way, if you do your loan with Remarkable Reverse Mortgage, I typically pay for the appraisal. Not a promise, but it is quite normal.
