I am a member of the International Institute for complimentary therapies. I have been since I registered my business. The alternative therapies industry can be a mixed bag of therapists. I am very aware of the negative side of the industry. As there is no real governing body to make sure people practicing are ''qualified, or legit'' it can make it quite difficult to be sure you are seeing someone with the right intentions. When looking to work with any type of therapist, always look to friends and family for recommendations. If that isn't something you can do, check to see if the business is registered, who they align themselves with and you should be able to check social pages and websites and that will show qualifications and places like the IICT that they subscribe too. Just another handy way if you are skeptical of seeing anyone in the alternative/complimentary therapies business
