Our Story
Chelsey
Owner/Cosmetologist
Chelsey graduated from Marca College of Hair and Esthetics in Saskatoon, Sk. in 1999 and entered the salon industry right away. One year later she and her family moved to Nanaimo and from there she began a tedious journey molding her hair career.
She is experienced in all fields of the industry, including but not limited to; advanced hair cutting with a variety of styles of cutting, extensions, advanced colour services, perms, chemical straightening amazing pedicures, manicures as well as spray tanning.
Chelsey's passion for hair has led her to running a full service salon, and shares her creativity and experience with the people around her.
When she is not working she is spending time with her family. She also enjoys watching the latest television series and hair tutorials. She is always up for fun and exciting stories from her clientele. Her bubbly personality makes your visit pleasurable and ongoing.
Xylia
Hairstylist
Xylia has been lucky enough to be doing what she loves since 1992. She is a red seal trained stylist who has had the opportunity to live many places within our wonderful country. She has worked with some magnificent stylists and learned the most she could along the way. She started off with her training in Calgary.
She believes no matter how long you have been in the industry we should never stop learning & growing. She had the opportunity to raise her family here in Nanaimo, BC, which gives us a chance in the summer to go camping or on an adventure if she is not working or finding some other fun creative things to do.
Char
Hairstylist
Char is a born and raised Island girl who brings 30+ years of experience to Hair Tech Salon.
She attended Malaspina College to receive her Hairdressing diploma and graduated with 3 awards, one being in Color. Char loves all aspects of hairdressing, from spiral perms to modern textured cuts.
She believes the key to a successful career is client consultations, understanding the clients expectations and explaining the process throughout.
When Char is not in the salon she enjoys exploring the island with her family and of course, her dog.

Keely
Hairstylist
Keely is a born and raised Island girl. She is the newest addition to our ever growing Hair Tech Team and we love how she brings her youthful energy and fresh ideas to the salon.
She attended VIU Hairdressing in 2016 and graduated at the top of her class. Her favorite service to do by far is color, however, she enjoys every aspect of her career.
When she isn't at the salon working her buns off she likes to explore the island and hang out with friends.
