Silk Mill

Our studio grew out of a yoga community with a long tradition in Kent, Ohio. One of the first Northeast Ohio therapeutic yoga teacher trainings was held at Camp Asbury in 1997 and more followed. More teachers helped the community to grow until a dedicated and shared space for yoga and related activities was needed.  In 2001, teachers and students came together to form the Kent Yoga Center at University Plaza and the community flourished.

We held a vision of being close to the center of this vibrant and friendly city in a peaceful, yet energizing place. After years of seeking, we discovered a serene location next to the Cuyahoga River and put down roots. Here, at the Silk Mill, we are surrounded by gardens, tall trees, flowing water and occasional train whistles. 

     One Love Yoga's Silk Mill studio offers a perfect setting for practicing gentle and moderate yoga as well as other specialty classes. The classes at the Silk Mill help you slow down and get in touch with your breath as well as finding gentle movements. Each one of our classes will accommodate practitioners at any level. We maintain a schedule of unique year-round drop-in classes that attract a mix of new and long-time students, and we offer a range of topical workshops and special classes taught by experienced staff and guest teachers. Additionally, props such as mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps, eye pillows, tennis balls and more are offered for use during classes. 

Become one with nature as you practice adjacent to the Cuyahoga River running outside this historical building. Feel free to make yourself cozy in our calming waiting area where we offer complimentary hot tea and water while taking in the beautiful view of the outdoors.
