Business Route Facts
- Minute Order 89979, dated February 27, 1990, created an
official highway designation called Business Routes. Many
State Loops and Spurs were signed as Business Routes but
were not designated as such. Based on the through highways
it is connected to, Business Route designations and signs
include the number of the through highway and a letter suffix to
distinguish one from another.
- The longest business route is BU 83-S in Hidalgo and
Cameron Counties, at a length of approximately 47.0 miles.
- The shortest business route is BS 114-J in Rhome (Wise
County), a distance of approximately 0.4 mile.
