'Outer Banks' casting agency warns of scams for background actors

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Potential background actors for the fourth season of Outer Banks are being warned of casting scams.

Kimmie Stewart Casting, the casting agency of the Netflix series, wrote about the casting scams in a June 20 Facebook post. The casting agency says the only way to be booked is to submit an email to stewartcastingbg@gmail.com for free.

According to Kimmie Stewart Casting, the scams involve tricking potential background actors into sending money or meeting in-person.

"We will never charge money or have anyone pay for a website to submit," the post reads. "Never pay money to submit and never sign up on a website to submit."

Anyone who discovers a casting scam is asked to notify Kimmie Stewart Casting.
